Leads versus projects
A lead is not a separate record. It is a project on the lead stage of your pipeline, which is why the history never splits.
A lead is not a separate record in Trussi. Everything is a project, and a lead is simply a project sitting on a stage whose role is lead.
A newly created project always starts on the pipeline's lead stage, and "converting" it just means moving it to a later stage: same project, same id, same history. That is why lead-stage work and job work share one record, one set of files and one comment thread. Nothing has to be copied across, and nothing gets left behind in a system you stopped looking at.
Where a project ends
Terminal outcomes are the dead and cancelled stages rather than deletion. A dead lead keeps its reason, which is what the dead-lead report is built from, and a cancelled job keeps everything that happened before it was cancelled.
