Google Ads and Meta Ads

Connect Google Ads and Meta Ads to pull in campaign spend and leads, and see them together on the Channels dashboard.

On this page

Google Ads connects through Trussi's own Google Ads account, not one you set up yourself: click Connect on the Google Ads tile and sign in with the Google account that manages your ads. There's no developer token or API key to enter.

  • After connecting, Trussi lists every Google Ads account your Google login can see. Manager accounts show up too, but they can't be checked since they don't carry campaigns of their own; pick the operating accounts you want synced and click Save selection. A Refresh accounts button re-pulls the list if you've added an account since you connected.
  • Once at least one account is picked, Trussi syncs its campaign spend, impressions, clicks, and conversions automatically, about once an hour.
  • If you also run Google Local Services Ads (LSA), Trussi pulls in every LSA lead Google billed you for and tries to match it to an existing lead in your CRM by phone, email, or name. It does not create a new lead by itself: it exists to show which of your existing leads Google is actually taking credit, and payment, for.
  • A Sync now option lets you pick a start date and pull historical spend and LSA data further back than the automatic hourly sync covers, with a live progress bar while it runs.
  • Disconnecting stops the sync right away. Trussi keeps the ad data it already pulled in for 30 days, in case you reconnect, then deletes it.

Meta Ads

Meta Ads covers Facebook and Instagram advertising together, connected once for both. Click Connect on the Meta Ads tile and log in with Facebook Login for Business, using a Facebook login that's an admin on the business's Facebook Page (and ad account, if you want spend synced too).

  • After connecting, every Facebook Page you manage shows up with a Lead Ads switch. Turn it on for a Page to start capturing that Page's Facebook and Instagram Lead Ads as new leads in Trussi, the moment someone submits one.
  • Pick which ad account to sync spend, impressions, and clicks from. The connection can also carry a Meta Pixel ID for your website.
  • With a Pixel connected, Trussi automatically sends Meta a "Purchase" event whenever a project's pipeline stage moves to Won, using that project's approved job value and whatever email or phone number is on file (hashed before it's sent), so Meta's own ad targeting learns which leads actually turned into paying jobs.
  • Ad account spend, impressions, and clicks sync automatically about every 6 hours; a Sync now button refreshes them on demand.
  • Disconnecting stops new leads and spend syncing right away. Trussi keeps the spend data it already pulled in for 30 days before deleting it.

Where the numbers show up

Both platforms report into the same place: Channels, under Marketing in the sidebar. Opening it takes View on Marketing Channels. Connecting either platform in the first place takes Modify on Account.

  • Each connected platform gets its own card: spend, leads or conversions, cost per lead, return on ad spend, impressions, clicks, click-through rate, and a daily spend trend.
  • Google LSA gets an extra breakdown on its card: charged, in review, credited, and not-charged leads, plus a phone-versus-message split, and a Lead matching button that opens the list of LSA leads matched, unmatched, or not determinable against your CRM.
  • Each card also shows which of your lead sources that platform is mapped to (or that none is linked yet), so spend and results roll up under the right source.
  • New leads captured through Meta's Lead Ads land as ordinary projects in your CRM, credited to whichever lead source you've linked to Meta Ads, or one named "Facebook" if you haven't linked one, and assigned to your account's main location by default.

Before you connect

  • Both are connected by an account admin (Modify on Account) from the add-ons catalog under Settings.
  • Both currently carry a Beta tag in the catalog. If either is set up as a paid add-on for your account, its card in the catalog shows the price and lets you enable it before the connect screen appears; otherwise it's a direct connect.
