Invoices, payments and accounting

The project's Payments tab holds payments received, payments paid, additional expenses, and the project's invoices, with received payments able to be tied to a specific invoice.

On this page

It takes View on Payments to open, and Create on Payments / Modify on Payments / Delete on Payments to change anything.

Invoices are produced from the worksheet ("record invoice"); Create on Project Invoices and Create on Invoicing are the capabilities involved.

QuickBooks Online (Settings › QuickBooks) syncs invoices, expenses and payments, and the sidebar Finance section (Export Spend, Export Payments) only appears once QuickBooks is connected. The online payment provider is configured at Settings › Payment Provider, and with the Customer Portal add-on homeowners can pay their invoices there themselves.

Company-level views: Executive → Cash Flow and Collections.

Step by step

  1. Open the project and go to the Payments tab. Where: the project's Payments tab. Needs View on Payments.
  2. Record the payment received, and tie it to the invoice it settles so the balance stays right. Needs Create on Payments.

Before you start

This area exists only once QuickBooks Online is connected for your account. Integrations are connected by an account admin from the add-ons catalog.

Who can do this

Access in Trussi is a capability granted to a role. If one of these is missing from your role, an account admin can grant it; see roles, permissions and why something is hidden.
