Trussi AI, the in-app assistant
What Trussi AI can look up and do inside the CRM, and what it plainly says when it doesn't know something.

Where to find it
Trussi AI lives in the ask bar pinned to the bottom of every CRM screen. Click into it, or press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) from anywhere, to start typing. A sparkle icon in the header opens AI Home (marked beta in the product), a full page for the same assistant with your recent conversations.
The assistant refers to itself as Trussi in the conversation. It only ever sees your own account's data, and if your role is restricted to specific branches, it narrows further to those locations, the same as the screens you already use.
It also knows what you're looking at. Open a project and ask "what's the total on this," or say "assign this to me," and it acts on the record you have open without you having to name or search for it again.
What it can look up
Ask it about your own records and it reads them live, then answers in prose, a sortable table, or a chart, whichever fits the question:
- Projects: search by name, customer, address, stage, or assignee, or pull up one project's full detail (stage history, insurance, job type, counts).
- Customers: search by name, email, or phone.
- The schedule: appointments and crew events for a date range.
- The pipeline: counts and totals by stage, for a date range or a location.
- Financial summaries, and the same stale-projects, missing-photos, overdue-invoices and scheduling-gap insights you'd otherwise have to go looking for yourself.
- Users, crews, and locations.
- Your account's uploaded documents and photo captions: ask what a contract says, which report mentions something, or whether you have a photo of a particular detail, and it searches the text and captions of what's been uploaded, citing the file and page it found.
Each of these follows the same permission the matching screen already uses, so if a menu or tab is hidden from your role, asking the assistant for the same thing gets you a plain "you don't have permission for this," never a way around it.
What it can do for you
Beyond looking things up, it can act, but never silently. Ask it to update a project's stage, assign a project, add a comment, schedule an appointment, send an email, create a new project, or build or revise an estimate (see the AI estimate article), and it lays out exactly what's about to change and waits for you to approve it in a confirmation dialog before anything happens.
Asking *how* to do something is never treated as an instruction to do it: "how do I create a project" gets you the answer, not a half-filled project form.
If it comes up empty on a product question, or you're reporting something behaving wrongly, it can file a support ticket with the Trussi team. It shows you the exact title first, sets it to normal priority, and never promises a fix or a timeline. What it can promise is that the ticket exists, and that replies show up under My Tickets.
Attaching a photo or document
The paperclip in the ask bar lets you attach a photo or a document and ask about it: a roof photo gets described back to you, and a document (a PDF, for instance) gets its text pulled out so you can ask what it says. Each has its own hourly allowance, covered in the usage article.
How it answers questions about Trussi itself
For "where do I find X" or "how do I do Y" questions about the product, the assistant doesn't rely on general knowledge of how a CRM works. It looks the answer up in a written reference Trussi keeps matched to the actual screens and permissions, and answers only from what that reference returns.
When the reference has nothing on your question, it says so plainly instead of guessing, and offers to raise a support ticket. It also checks any permission an answer mentions against your own role and tells you outright when you don't have it, and who on your account does, so you know who to ask.
What it will not do
- It will not act on a write request without first explaining what will change and waiting for your approval.
- It will not answer a how-to question from memory, or describe a screen or setting it hasn't actually confirmed exists.
- It will not fabricate a number. If it doesn't have the data, it says so instead of estimating one.
- It will not see data outside your account, or outside the locations your role is scoped to.
What an account needs
Trussi AI is a paid add-on. It has to be turned on for your account before the ask bar or AI Home does anything, and that's set up on Trussi's side rather than a toggle you flip yourself, so ask your Trussi contact to enable it. Once it's on for the account, anyone whose role holds View on AI Chat can use it.
Who can do this
Using the assistant at all takes View on AI Chat, on an account where AI Chat is enabled. Project and customer lookups take View on Projects and View on Customer; updating a project's stage or adding a comment takes Modify on Projects; creating a project takes Create on Projects; sending an email takes Create on Email; and building or saving an estimate takes View on Worksheet and Create on Worksheet, the same permissions the dedicated estimate screen uses.
