What the Scheduler Manager is for

Scheduler Manager, under Production in the sidebar, is a timeline for putting a project's actual work on the calendar: which crew is doing the labor, and when a delivery is arriving. Its own subtitle in the app describes it as managing production schedules across all crews and trades, and that is exactly its shape: a resource timeline with your crews and subcontractors running down the side and dates running across the top, rather than a single day or week view.

It schedules two kinds of entries, Labor and Delivery. A sales appointment or an inspection is not scheduled here; those stay on the company Calendar or a project's own Calendar tab, which the calendar and scheduling article covers.

What gets scheduled, and against whom

The rows on the Scheduler's timeline are your crews, grouped under the subcontractor each one belongs to, plus a row for labor that has not been assigned a crew yet. Every crew carries one or more trades, so the timeline can be filtered down to just the crews qualified for a given job, and filtered by location as well.

An order becomes eligible for scheduling once its project reaches a production-ready stage (won or completed, or a custom stage in between) and it has no labor or delivery event yet; the Scheduler calls this list Pending scheduling, described on screen as orders that do not have any labor or delivery events scheduled yet. That list is searchable by project, customer or order, and each row can be scheduled, previewed or opened directly.

To put a pending order on the board, either use Schedule from that Pending scheduling list, or click an empty date under a crew's row on the timeline itself: that opens a dialog already set to that crew and date, where you search for and attach the order. A delivery event additionally records a delivery time window, a procurement method and a delivery method; a labor event records the crew doing the work. Either way, clicking an existing event shows its crew or delivery details along with the material or labor line items pulled straight from that order's quote, and links to open the order or the project.

Rescheduling

Dragging an event to a different date or a different crew's row does not save immediately: it opens a confirmation showing exactly what changed (date, crew, or both), with the original and new values side by side, before you confirm it.

How it relates to the calendar

Labor and delivery events are not a separate record kept only on the Scheduler. They are the same calendar events shown on the company Calendar (which has its own Delivery and Labor tabs) and on the project's own Calendar tab. The Scheduler Manager is simply the working view built for filling a crew's open dates and catching double-bookings across every project at once; the Calendar is the day-by-day view of everything on the books, appointments included.

Who can do this

Viewing the Scheduler Manager takes the View Scheduler permission, scheduling a pending order takes Create Schedule, and rescheduling or editing an existing entry takes Manage Scheduler, all named that way on the account's Permissions screen. By default, Account Admin and Back Office have all three. Branch Manager and PM can view the Scheduler by default but cannot create or manage entries on it. Crew Lead and Subcontractor do not get the Scheduler Manager screen by default, though a crew still sees its own scheduled events on the calendar, covered in the calendar and scheduling article.
